Camera + Love = Memories Forever

How we met:
Myke and I met about 12 years ago at a Starbucks. He was going to be managing a Western Warehouse store that was opening in the area and I met him for an interview. He was “forced” to hire me after I spilled his drink all over mine, and everyone else’s job applications… We worked together for about 3 months before he was transferred to another store. Over the next 8 years, we would run into each other from time to time, chat for a few mins about life, and move on.
In 2013, I ran into him while I was out Christmas shopping. We talked for a few mins and realized that we were both single. He gave me his number and walked with me to the checkout. As I was checking out, he had to take a call from a customer. I paid for my items and started walking out of the store. As I turned to wave he held up his “call” sign and mouthed “call me!” Most of the girls in the store made fun of him after that… but he was successful. I called the next day, and we’ve been together ever since.
What I’m most looking forward to is just the euphoria of the day, and to finally be marrying my soul mate. At the end of every day, I feel like I’m exactly where God wants me to be, and that alone is the most amazing feeling. I prayed, for a long time, that God would bring the right man into my life. I giggle a bit every time I think of his response… but he couldn’t have been more spot on! When our wedding day is over, even if nothing goes as planned, just knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life, will be good enough for me.
We took our kids to San Antonio for a family vacation over the summer. After a crazy weekend that went nothing as planned, Myke proposed on our last evening there. After a surprisingly pleasant dinner and ride on the river boat cruise, Myke decided that we needed to walk along the Riverwalk and find a nice place to take one last picture. We stopped on “Marriage Island” and decided it would be a pretty place for a picture. He handed the camera to his son to take a picture, and as I tried to stand next to him for the picture, he kept moving over. I couldn’t figure out why he wouldn’t stand next to me! Then I decided to stand still and wait for him to move over, and instead he got down on one knee and proposed. As he started to put the ring on my finger, he dropped it and it started rolling! I stood still afraid to move, as he and the kids crawled on the ground trying to find it. They finally found it! Thank God it didn’t roll into the river!
